Good Things Come in Threes.
Contracts. Communication. Community.
I’m Megan Shapiro—construction attorney, contract and communication coach, and community builder for people who are done playing small.
Whether we’re redlining contracts, rewriting your inner script, or building the room everyone wants to be in, I’m here to help you lead with clarity, confidence, and zero bullshit.
I built my career on the Three Cs: contracts, communication, and community.
(Okay, four if you count counselor—because, you know, lawyer.)
I’m Megan Shapiro—a construction attorney, contract and communication coach, strategist, and occasional wallflower-turned-ringmaster. For 15 years, I’ve been in the trenches with subcontractors—holding my own as a woman in two male-dominated fields, calling BS where it needs to be called, and helping the trades navigate contracts, conflict, and chaos.
I’ve been told I’m too much more times than I can count—too direct, too ambitious, too strategic, too loud, too passionate. But honestly? I’ll take too much over not enough any day.
Here’s the deal: I’m outgoing, sarcastic, and pretty damn charming once I feel safe in the room. But I’ve also spent years clamming up at conferences, wishing there were spaces that actually felt good to walk into.
Which is probably why I built the kind of rooms I needed—whether that’s through my workshops, my coaching, or the annual Converge Construction Summit. No cliques. No cool kids table. Just real people showing up and helping each other out.
I don’t pretend all the problems are fixed. GCs don’t treat trades like true partners (don’t get me started), and women are still navigating bias, the mommy tax, and a whole lot of pressure to smile through it. I see that shit. And I call it what it is.
I don’t do performative empowerment. I don’t pretend bias and power plays aren’t still the norm. And I definitely don’t do ego.
But what I truly love is getting in the room with people who are open, collaborative, and ready to get strategic. Because when I’m in, I’m all in. I see patterns fast, cut through the noise, and help you find the smartest way forward. Every single time.
So yeah—I’m not for everyone.
But if you’re looking for clarity, strategy, and zero bullshit?
Pull up a chair.
Contracts. Conversations. Community. If you're ready to stop winging it and start leading with strategy, I’ve got a way in.
Because "just sign it" is not a strategy.
I teach the trades how to review, redline, and negotiate their subcontracts so they stop bleeding money, minimize risk, and actually support their business goals. Whether it’s 1:1 coaching, team contract training, or my self-paced Construction Contract Academy™, I help subcontractors turn contracts into tools for growth—not liabilities.
Because knowing what to say isn’t the same as knowing how to say it.
I work with women in business who are tired of shrinking themselves in high-stakes conversations—whether that’s in a negotiation, a leadership meeting, or a hallway confrontation they didn’t see coming. Through workshops, group masterminds, and private coaching, I teach women how to prepare, communicate, and lead like a lawyer: calm, clear, and completely in control.
Because real relationships don’t happen in ballrooms with badge scans.
Converge was born from one offhand comment and a whole lot of people saying “hell yes.” It’s a small, curated event for construction-adjacent professionals who are tired of networking that goes nowhere. No fluff, no cool kids table—just meaningful conversations, real business connections, and the kind of collaborative energy that doesn’t fizzle out after a LinkedIn post. Every single attendee from last year walked away with work. That’s not a pitch—it’s a fact.
I speak on contracts, communication, and confidence—for construction leaders, business owners, and the women breaking barriers in both. My sessions aren’t lectures—they’re strategy-packed, BS-free, and built to move people to action.
Whether I’m leading a packed room or an executive roundtable, I bring clarity, sharp insight, and real tools that stick.
Want your audience to walk away smarter, bolder, and more prepared than ever?
Let’s talk.
Whether you’re ready to fix your contracts, lead your next tough conversation, or finally show up like the boss you are—I’ve got a way to help.
Pick your path and let’s get to work.
I'm proud to serve on the Executive Leadership Team for the 2025 American Heart Association Heart and Stroke Walk. I'm also an Executive with Heart and a member of the Hard Hats with Heart Roundtable—an initiative bringing heart health to the construction industry, where it's needed most.
This work isn’t a footnote. It's how I serve.
At Converge, I even turned our swag bags into a fundraising tool: every logo you'll see is from someone who donated directly to AHA.
